September 2006
A very successful Australia Cup IV has just been held at our range with a very big thank you to the club members who came out and worked hard to make it all happen. There was nothing but praise from the visiting shooters on the way the shoot was conducted and the wonderful 'atmosphere' of the competition. See the AusPistol website for all the results.

The Annual General Meeting for 2006/7 was held recently, with the election of Office Bearers taking place. The newly elected President for 2006/7 is Tom Fulton. More details on the Committee as soon as I get the page organised.

Club member Judy Harding is now the 200m Unlimited Metallic Silhouette National Champion for 2006 from the recent National Championship in Canberra. Well done Judy.

22 Dec 2005
As we come to the end of a very busy year, our club hosted the Pistol Australia Nationals, ISSF Qld State Titles, Service and Black Powder Qld State Titles, Oceania Games, IPSC Grand Slam, Morley Ash Open, Australian Shooting Games, Action Match State Titles, coaching camps and club events. From memory and recorded history never has the club committed to running so many events in a single calendar year. Our members have put in enormous efforts to achieve success in every one of these events, from painting and cleaning to range construction to volunteering during the events. It is a tribute to those members that our club is recognised Nationally and Internationally as a premier Pistol Shooting range. We are proud of our club, of what we have achieved this year and looking forward to a bit of a rest in 2006.

More range improvements will be initiated in 2006 further benefiting our members, details soon.

It has been difficult to get a club secretary after the enormous job Glenis did over the previous three years. This has meant delays in processing some member requests, we ask that members and new members be patient until a suitable (willing) person can be found. Meanwhile the committee members are responding to requests as soon as possible.

The lack of a Providore since the AGM in September has meant the canteen has been unstaffed for club shoots, if any club member is interested in the position please contact a committee member or write to the secretary care of the club.

Congratulations to Bruce Favell on his selection in the Commonwealth Games Pistol team for the 2006 games in Melbourne.

There is so many people to congratulate on their achievements throughout the year it would be difficult to list them all, I consider a grade break from D to C an achievement so you get the idea. Bruce however has been in several Commonwealth games teams and is a tireless worker and ambassador for our Club and Sport over many years, so, I think he deserves a special mention. He deserves whatever support we can give him over the coming months.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and may all your shots be tens in 2006.
