Firearms Safety CourseThe City of Brisbane Pistol Club hold Firearms Safety Courses on the 4th Sunday of each month (except December). Anyone wishing to obtain a firearms licence must complete such a course as part of the licencing process. Currently, the price of the course is $110This covers A/B (Rifle / Shotgun) & H (Handgun) certification. Note: There are a number of clubs conducting safety courses. Not all of them include the Pistol (Category H) component. Please double check to ensure that the course you are attending will cover all categories of firearms you are interested in. The City of Brisbane Pistol Club covers Pistol, Rifle and Shotgun categories in all courses we facilitate. The scheduled date may vary slightly due to major events or competitions so please check for any notices on our home page. Participants should have a current 'Statement of Eligibility' or 'longarms licence' to do the course. While the 'Statement of Eligibility' is not compulsory to do the course, it is suggested that this be obtained (or at least applied for) just prior to the course, this will save time later on when joining a shooting club. (Please see the How to Join page for details.) Prerequisites: When attending the range to do the course, you must have 'photo ID'. (no photo ID - no shooting). You will also need to have covered footwear and shirts with sleeves are to be worn at all times when shooting. Singlets are not to be worn on the ranges. Cammo or military style clothing is also not acceptable. As numbers are limited to 10 participants per course, you need to contact Vince at wsc@cobpc.org.au to make arrangements to reserve your place at the next course.
